About TJ Payne:

TJ is a versatile forensic analyst with analytic, investigative, research, and risk mitigation skills. He has extensive knowledge of harm reduction principles and strategies gained through over a decade as a substance abuse counselor and supervisor. TJ is armed with excellent written and verbal communicational skills, critical thinking, initiative, and teamwork.
Education
TJ is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Policy & Law, with an expected completion of 2025. His dissertation involves measuring the attitudes and beliefs of mock jurors, and their likelihood of using the Trans Panic Defense. TJ holds a a Masters' Degree of Science from Alliant's California School of Forensic Studies. He concentrated on criminal behavior, and presented a thesis re-examining 1940s cold cases with modern investigation techniques.
Experience
TJ is currently consulting on an unsolved homicide case based in Colorado. Additionally, he is engaged in covering the death of Nex Benedict, a trans teen who died after a fight took place on an Oklahoma High School campus. TJ has over a decade of experience as a certified drug and alcohol abuse counselor and supervisor.
